Basic Impetus Fantasticus Giant WIP

Hey Folks, this time i have just an older WIP picture for you. My study keeps me on edge at the moment. The picture shows my association of a giant. Tall, big body, small brain but when he strikes there will be nothing more than dust left over. The miniature is Harry potter plastic kid toy which i bought at the bay for just a few pounds. The toy was able to move legs, arms and his head but i glued everything in the position shown on the picture. I will need to fill the gaps, paint him in a human flesh tone (although the blue flesh looks cool too) and will add some gimmicks ad his belt like a dead cow. And he will get a pulled out tree in one of his hands. But enough words - here is the picture:

I love his facial expression :) ... For scale comparison i made this pic:

The Helbardiers look really tiny compared with him! This modell will be the eye catcher of my army and i can't wait to paint him!

Does anyone of you have a nice idea where to buy or to find a dead cow modell?

Basic Impetus Fantastikus Charakters

This time i have done two splendid characters. On the one hand an evil looking character. A witch, riding on broom, looking for a victim to cook & eat :D ...

... and on the other hand the good charakter. A glorious, honourable, magnificent Knight, riding his battle horse with a huge magic lance called "Dragon slayer" - Yeaaah!!!

I painted the Knight in 2001 and the witch in 2000. Now rebased, they will serve as powerful elements in my Impetus Fantasy army. Overview:

Basic Impetus Fantastikus Update II

Yesterday i found the time to make some pictures of the current status of my Basic Impetus Fantastikus Bretonnian army. Done are a bowmen and light cavalry element i made two weeks ago. This increased the counter on four elements.

The army will consist of what i find in my glass cabinet. The ongoing status is:

2xCP Knights -> 1/2
3xCL Yeomen -> 2/3
2xFP Helbardiers -> 0/2
1xFP Knights on foot -> 0/1
2xT Longbowmen -> 1/2
1xS Robin Hoods gang -> 0/1
1xM Giant -> 0/1
3xHero Mounted and on foot -> 0/3
3xMagician & Witches -> 0/3
1xAerial Hero on Pegasus -> 0/1

Well a lot to do but my advantage is that i painted most of these miniatures more than 8 years ago. So i have to rebase them only. Here are the next two bases beginnig with the light cavalry:

The stone with the fleur-de-lýs symbol shall display a bretonnian shrine on a pilgrim rout. On the ground some pilgrims layed alms for safe journey. The right yeomen is watching to shrine and the alm in order to find something useful.
As you can see i have to add the ponytail. They broke some years ago.

The second element is bowmen unit. Led by a chap the unit is in combat firing a charge of arrows to the enemy. I need to add a banner to the champs right hand.

Next will be a second element of bowmen and the first element of helbardiers. So stay tuned.

Surprise, surprise..

Surprise, surprise...Over the last days i found some time to paint surprisingly. I did not expect that time so i enjoyed painting some minitures. I was very productive for i painted the next element of my Impetus Fantasy Bretonnian army. Unfortunatly i had not my camera with me so i had to make pictures with my handy cam (sorry for quality)! Anyway i am very pleased with the result and looking forward very excitedly for the next elements.

At least i started to paint the next battlegroup for my 15mm FoG Alexandrian Macedonian Army: Cretan Archers. In addition to that i try to paint Agrianian Javelinmen parallel.

Basic Impetus Fantastikus Update

A small update. The first base is nearly done. Its an element CP Heavy Cavalry.The last rider and flag bearer´s arm must be painted. Maybe i need some gras or reed for the border of the riverbed. What do you think? Please do not pay so much attention to the painting because i painted the figs more then ten years ago and i would paint them different today.

I tried Vallejo Water Effects first time on a bigger surface. HETAIROI WARGAMES wrote a nice tutorial about how to use. But my experiences do not correspont with his. My river needed more than three weeks until he was totally dry!!! So be careful - its not as easy as he says!!

Next one is an element of CL Light Cavalry. Its very WIP.

Basic Impetus Fantastikus

Some days ago i found the ruleset of Basic Impetus. The rules are okay but not more and i decided to lay them apart. But now i found the Fantasy rules which allow you to create elements/unit with special abilities. In my opinion these rules are superb because i ever wanted a balanced system with the ability to create my own army.

So i stepped down in my hobby room, looked in my glas cabinet and found some GW Bretonnians i painted ten years ago with a thick layer of dust. They will have a new use.

You see two elements of bows (T), knights (CP), unmounted knights (FP)and helbardiers (FP). In addition i will take three elements of light cavalry (CL), one more helbardier (FP) a giant (monster), aerial hero, some wizards and mounted heroes and flyers!
